LFCIA SoCal is proud to announce the newest addition to the coaching staff. George Kuntz has joined our staff this January as the Boys Professional/Collegiate Phase Leader. With 30+ years at the youth and collegiate level, Kuntz has served a remarkable 19 years as Head Coach at UC Irvine Men’s Soccer and 6 years at Cal State Fullerton Men’s Soccer. During this time, he has won four Big West Tournament championships, along with being named the NSCAA/Adidas Far West Region Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2008. With a career record of 369-256-87, he ranks second in Big West history with 191 victories. Through his leadership, several players have advanced to the next level, including 12 in Major League Soccer (MLS) and three on various U.S. National Teams.
Kuntz currently holds a United States Soccer Federation “A” license, a National Youth License and The National Soccer Coaches Association Advanced National Diploma. He spent much of his coaching career studying the development of the youth soccer and is identified nationally as the one of the longest serving State Association Directors of Coaching. Through these accreditations, he has taken a critical role in the Olympic Development Program (ODP) for over 34 years, as a player, coach, and administrator.

During this critical phase, he will look to add to the development team of coaches and assist the growth of players to the level they hope to achieve with his holistic, technical and tactical experience at all levels.
