LFCIA’s Community Outreach Team Unites to Organize Uniform Donation

Our Community Outreach team is always ready and willing to serve our community, so when LFCIA SoCal was presented with the opportunity to reuse excess uniforms and t-shirts from previous years, the team united and went to work! Together with other staff members, they sorted and bagged up the uniforms and t-shirts, and divided them between two amazing organizations.

The deserving recipient of the uniforms is Petrichor Football Association, an organization providing mentoring opportunities through soccer; sponsoring 14 soccer academies (1,500 kids) in Cameroon, West Africa!  Co-founder, Jo-Ben Barkey, explained that one of the biggest challenges in their work is that “we never get full sets of uniforms, making it impossible to outfit teams.”  “This is MASSIVE; the kids are going to be so excited” he said.  Jo-Ben extended his sincere appreciation to Tim Woodcock, for his continued support and care, and said “it speaks volume to the Core Values and what’s truly important to LFCIA SoCal!

Mariners Church, located here in Irvine, proudly serves the community through various ways, including a Thrift Store. The Store “provides support for those experiencing crisis or struggling to meet basic needs.”  In the current climate, donations have been limited, so they were ecstatic to receive the t-shirt donation, and thanked us for our support and generosity!

It’s great to see how a couple organizations, and a few of our staff can make such a big impact!  We are committed to encouraging our youth by leading by example! If you have a story of compassion, unity, or service to share with us, we’d love to hear from you!
